A simple flyer to be handed out to the patrons of the May Gallery.
Gerald Fritzler is one of the most celebrated living watercolor artists. While he made a name for himself in more traditional painting, he has now ventured into the world of abstraction.
Teaming up with the Vilar Performing Arts Center, Claggett/Rey Gallery presented the new works of Fritzler in the May Gallery, an exclusive area for major patrons.
Fritzler’s work speaks volumes for itself, chromatically and compositionally. To design a visual identity for the exhibition meant not getting in the way of the pieces. Simple, but well considered typography and liberal white space allows the paintings to remain the main focus.
The only place I wanted to bring any immediate visual interest was a simple, but captivating wordmark. The jumbled forms and rhythmic flow of the mark reflect the need to inspect the pieces and their inherent musicality.
Special consideration was given to the exhibition's web presence.
Simple media queries ensure that viewers across a variety of devices can enjoy viewing the pieces digitally.
